Adjudicators appointed for Public Art Project at Tamar

     The Government has appointed renowned local and overseas figures in the fields of art and architecture to be adjudicators for the "Public Art Project - Tamar".

     The full membership of the adjudication panel is as follows:

     The Government is confident that the participation of such renowned figures will help identify the most fitting and best quality artworks for installation at the open space of Tamar upon its commissioning in 2011.

     The "Public Art Project - Tamar", which aims at encouraging public participation and promoting local artworks, is open to all persons aged 18 or above, individual or in a team, who are holders of a valid Hong Kong identity card. Artists will have maximum freedom to design their work and there is no specific theme for the project.

     Preliminary proposals will be short-listed for development of detailed proposals. The panel may recommend the commissioning of artwork by selected participants. The commissioning fee for each chosen artwork is $1 million which covers all the direct and indirect costs incurred by the commissioned participant in the course of implementing the chosen artwork.

     Interested parties should submit their preliminary proposals to the Art Promotion Office by 6pm, June 28, 2010. More information on the project is available on the Art Promotion Office's website (www.lcsd.gov.hk/apo).
