Nominations are now invited for the 2010 Meritorious Websites Contest. Members of the public may nominate their favourite websites at www.merit.gov.hk from tomorrow (June 7) to July 31.
The contest, in its 11th year, is jointly organised by the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority, the Education Bureau, the Committee on Home-School Co-operation, the Hong Kong Internet Service Providers Association and Radio Television Hong Kong. With the theme "Surf smartly. Spend our time wisely" this year, the contest aims at encouraging young people to visit healthy websites and recognising the contribution of healthy website producers.
Nominations for the contest are divided into two categories, namely, individual nominations and organisation nominations. Each nominator may nominate a maximum of two websites. Nominations made by individuals must be supported by three seconders. Nominators of winning entries may be awarded a $1,000 gift voucher and a certificate.
Selection criteria of meritorious websites include usefulness of information, contribution to development of knowledge and mental capacity, attractiveness in presentation and layout, accessibility for disabled persons, etc.
