Tsuen Wan restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Tsuen Wan to suspend business for 14 days.  The operator repeatedly extended its food business illegally in breach of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant¡]·s¼Ö¶º©±¡^, on ground floor, No. 6 and 8 Sam Pei Square, was ordered to suspend business from today (June 4) to June 17.

"In January and April this year, two convictions on the above-mentioned breach were recorded against the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $3,200 was levied by the court and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," he added.

He said the food premises licensee also had two convictions in October 2008 and last September for the same offence.  A total fine of $4,900 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in November last year.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
