Following the meetings of the Yau Tsim Mong and Sham Shui Po District Councils held yesterday, the Package of Proposals for the Methods for Selecting the Chief Executive and for Forming the Legislative Council in 2012 (package for 2012 electoral methods) was supported by all the 18 District Councils.
From May 4, each District Council had passed a motion in support of the package for 2012 electoral methods after in-depth and thorough discussions.
A Government spokesman thanked the District Councils for showing concern to Hong Kong's constitutional development, and welcomed the invaluable views by their members.
"The support from District Councils has signified that the package for 2012 electoral methods is recognised at district level," the spokesman said.
