Amendments to widening of Tolo Highway/Fanling Highway gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (May 28) on the proposed amendments to Stage 2 works for the widening of Tolo Highway/Fanling Highway between Island House Interchange and Fanling. The proposed amendments aim to address the objections to the original scheme and to tie in with the engineering considerations in the vicinity.

     The proposed amendments include revision of the layout of Kau Lung Hang Vehicular Bridge (with walkway), Tai Wo Footbridge, Kiu Tau Footbridge and Ho Ka Yuen Footbridge; revision of the layout of some sections of the noise barriers, at-grade carriageways, access tracks and footpaths; revision of the location of some refuge islands and the proposed limit of works area; revision of the location of the proposed signal controlled junction near Kau Lung Hang Vehicular Bridge (with walkway); deletion of the proposed retaining wall near Ho Ka Yuen Footbridge; revision of the layout of the retaining wall near Ma Wat drainage channel.

     The amendment plans and amendment scheme are available for public inspection at the following places during office hours:

(i)  Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;

(ii) Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po;

(iii)North District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling;

(iv) District Lands Office, Tai Po, First Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po; and

(v)  District Lands Office, North, Sixth Floor, North District Government Offices, 3 Pik Fung Road, Fanling.

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed amendments should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, on or before July 27.
