Special traffic arrangements for Tin Hau Festival

  Police will implement special traffic arrangements in various areas between tomorrow (May 5) and June 13 in Yuen Long, Kwun Tong, Tseung Kwan O, Sai Kung and Tuen Mun to facilitate the celebration of Tin Hau Festival.

Kwun Tong
---------
A) Road Closure and road diversion
From 8am to 5pm on May 6:

1. The inner lane of eastbound Cha Kwo Ling Road between Wing Fook Street and Yau Tong Road will be closed.
2. The unnamed road next to Tin Hau Temple will be converted to one-lane- two-way traffic.
From 2pm to 4pm on May 6:
1. A section of eastbound Cha Kwo Ling Road between Wing Fook Street and Yau Tong Road will be closed; this section of Cha Kwo Ling Road westbound will be converted to eastbound traffic.
2. Vehicles on westbound Cha Kwo Ling Road heading for Laguna City and Wai Yip Street will be diverted via Yau Tong Road, Lei Yue Mun Road, Wai Fat Road, Cha Kwo Ling Road and Wai Yip Street.

Tseung Kwan O
--------------

A) Road Closure
A section of Tai Au Mun Road between Clear Water Bay Second Beach Carpark and Po Toi O Chuen Road will temporarily be closed to vehicular traffic from 7am on May 5 to 5pm on May 6, except vehicles with permits.

B) Temporary Public Light Bus Service
A temporary public light bus service route No.16 will be operated at the Clear Water Bay Second Beach Carpark to provide services for worshippers travelling between Clear Water Bay Second Beach Carpark and Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club during the above mentioned period.

C) Suspension of Parking Spaces
A total of 49 parking spaces of Clear Water Bay Second Beach Carpark, four metered parking spaces at Tai Au Mun Road near Po Toi O Chuen Road and ten parking spaces near Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club entrance will be suspended during the above mentioned period.

Sai Kung
--------

A) Road Closure
A section of Yi Chun Street between Nin Chun Street and Man Nin Street will be closed from 10am on May 14 to 2pm on June 13. Traffic from Yi Chun Street heading for Man Nin Street will be diverted to Nin Chun Street northward, while the section of Man Nin Street between Nin Chun Street and Yi Chun Street will be designated to two-way traffic.

B) Suspension of Parking Spaces
On-street parking spaces on Man Nin Street, Nin Chun Street and Yi Chun Street and 15 numbers of goods vehicle parking spaces at Po Tung Road Carpark will also be suspended from 8am on May 14 to 2pm on June 13.

C) Taxi Stand
The Taxi stand at Yi Chun Street will be suspended from 10am on May 14 to 2pm on June 13. A temporary taxi stand will be provided for in Po Tung Road Carpark.

D) Green Minibus Terminus
The existing Green Minibus terminus in Yi Chun Street will be temporarily relocated to Man Nin Street near Sai Kung Hoi Pong from 10am on May 14 to 2pm on June 13.
 
Tuen Mun
--------
The following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented in Tuen Mun during the following specified periods on May 6, except for vehicles permitted by the police on site.

A) Road Closure and Road Diversion
From 8am to 6pm:
1. A section of Tin Hau Road between Pui To Road and Yip Wong Road will be closed.
2. A section of Hung Cheung Road from its junction with Tin Hau Road to its southern junction with San Ping Circuit will be closed.
3. A section of northbound Hung Cheung Road between its junction with Pui To Road and its southern junction with San Ping Circuit will be temporarily designated as no stopping zone.
4. A section of southbound Hung Cheung Road between its northern junction with San Ping Circuit and its southern junction with San Ping Circuit will be closed.
5. A section of San On Street from its southern junction with Hung Cheung Road to a point about 30 metres north of the same junction will be closed.
6. A section of Hing Wong Street from its junction with Hung Cheung Road to a point about 30 metres north of the same junction will be closed.
7. Yip Wong Road will be temporarily designated as no stopping zone.
8. Vehicles on Yip Wong Road will be banned from turning onto northbound Tin Hau Road.
9. Vehicles on southbound Tsun Wen Road will be banned from entering Tin Hau Road.

From 9am to 1pm:
1. The northbound carriageway of San Wo Lane will be closed.
2. A section of southbound San Wo Lane between San Tak Street and the Church of Christ in China Tam Lee Lai Fun Memorial Secondary School will be closed.
3. All parking spaces on San Wo Lane will be suspended.

From 10.30am to 2pm:
1. A section of northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road between Pui To Road and San Wo Lane will be closed.
2. A section of southbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road between Tsing Yin Street and Ho Pong Street will be closed.
3. A section of westbound Pui To Road between Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and Tin Hau Road will be closed intermittently.
4. Vehicles on a section of westbound Pui To Road east of Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road will be banned from entering a section of westbound Pui To Road west of Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and turning right onto northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road.
5. Vehicles on eastbound Pui To Road will be banned from turning left onto northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road.
6. Vehicles on a section of northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road south of Pui To Road will be banned from entering a section of northbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road north of Pui To Road and turning left onto westbound Pui To Road, except for vehicles permitted by Police on site, taxis, Green minibuses, franchised buses and MTR buses.
7. Vehicles on southbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road north of Tsing Yin Street heading for Pui To Road will be diverted to Tsing Yin Street, San Tsing Street, Ho Pong Street and southbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road.
8. Vehicles on southbound Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road south of Ho Pong Street will be banned from turning right onto westbound Pui To Road.

B) Taxi stand
The taxi stands at Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange will be suspended from 10.30am to 2pm.

C) Suspension of Parking Spaces
All parking spaces on San Wo Lane and inside San Wo Lane Carpark will be suspended from 9am to 1pm.

Yuen Long
---------

A) Road Closure

     The following sections of roads will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from the time specified below on 6 May and as necessary:

(I) From 8.30am onwards

(1) A section of Fung Cheung Road between Kin Lok Street and Fung Kam Street;
(2) Hop Yick Road; and
(3) Kin Tak Street.
 
(II) From 9.30am onwards

(1) A section of Tai Tong Road between Fau Tsoi Street and Ma Tong Road;
(2) Kau Yuk Road;
(3) A section of Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road between Ma Tin Road and Castle Peak Road;
(4) A section of Ma Tin Road between Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road and Ma Tong Road; and
(5) A section of Fung Nin Road between Fung Lok Lane and Kau Yuk Road.
 
(III) From 10.30am onwards

(1) A section of Ma Tong Road between Sai Yu Street and Ma Tin Road; and
(2) A section of Tai Shu Ha Road East between Ma Tong Road and Tai Shu Ha Tin Hau Temple.

     The following roads will be intermittently closed to all vehicular traffic from 8am onwards on 6 May and as necessary:

(1) A section of Po Yip Street between Hong Yip Street and Yuen Long On Lok Road;
(2) A section of Yuen Long On Lok Road between Po Yip Street and Wang Chau Road;
(3) Wang Chau Road;
(4) A section of Yuen Long On Ning Road between Wang Chau Road and Ma Miu Road; and
(5) Ma Miu Road.


(B) Traffic Diversion

     The following traffic diversion will be implemented from the time specified below and as necessary:

(1) A section of Tai Shu Ha Road East between Ma Tong Road and Tai Shu Ha Tin Hau Temple will be converted from two-way to one-way southbound traffic between 8pm on 5 May and 10.30am on 6 May; and

(2) A section of Kin Yip Street will be converted from one-way southbound to one-way northbound traffic from 8.30am on 6 May.

(C) Suspension of Green Minibus (GMB), Public Light Bus (PLB) and taxi stands
 
(1) The terminus of GMB on Fung Cheung Road will be suspended and relocated to Fung Yau Street North from 4pm on 5 May; and

(2) The terminus of GMB on Yuen Long On Hong Road will be suspended from 10am on 6 May.

(3) The PLB stand at Hung Min Court will be suspended from 9am on 6 May.

(4) The taxi stand on Kin Tak Street will be suspended from 8.30am on 6 May.

(D) Suspension of Parking Spaces

(I) The goods vehicles parking spaces inside the carpark off Fung Yau Street North will be suspended from 4pm on 5 May onwards.
 
(II) The following parking spaces will be suspended from 8am on 6 May onwards:

(1) The carpark off Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road outside Yuen Long Stadium;
(2) Fung Cheung Road;
(3) Ma Tin Road;
(4) Town Park Road North;
(5) Kin Tak Street;
(6) Yan Lok Square; and
(7) Hung Min Court.
 
     Motorists and members of the public are requested to take heed of Police advice at the scene.
