On February 11, the Government invited interested parties to submit applications to the Broadcasting Authority (BA) by April 30 for providing digital audio broadcasting services. As at 6pm today (April 30), the BA has received four applications from the following applicants -
Existing sound broadcasting licensees
-------------------------------------
(i) Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company Limited
(ii) Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited
(iii) Wave Media Limited
New licence applicant
---------------------
(iv) Phoenix Radio Limited
The BA will process the above applications in accordance with the Telecommunications Ordinance (Cap.106) and established procedures and make recommendations thereon to the Chief Executive in Council.
