Thirty-eight persons arrested in anti-vice operation

     Officers from The Organised Crime and Triad Bureau today (April 20) arrested 14 men and 24 women in various locations across the territory in an anti-vice joint operation with ICAC.

     The operation was mounted against a cross-border vice syndicate suspected of recruiting Mainland women to provide sex services in vice establishments under its control.

     Five vice establishments and other places in Yau Ma Tei were raided today, resulting in the arrest of 14 men and 24 women aged between 18 and 60. Among the arrestees, 16 of them were core syndicate members, one was a police sergeant and the remaining were Mainland women.
 
     The police sergeant was arrested for alleged corruption and assisting in the operation of the syndicate.

     Operation is still ongoing.
