Appeal for information on baby body found case

     Police are appealing for information on a case in which the body of a baby was found in Tsuen Wan this morning (April 16).

     About 6am, a woman found a baby inside a rubbish bin at the junction of Sha Tsui Road and Ham Tin Street and immediately reported the case to the Police.

     Police officers sped to the scene and located the baby inside a black recycle bag in the rubbish bin. The baby, with an umbilical cord, was sent to Yan Chai Hospital where he was certified dead at 6.24am.

    Initial examination revealed that the baby was a newborn boy.

    A post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the baby's death.

    Investigations by District Crime Squad of Tsuen Wan are proceeding.

     Police appeal to next-of-kin of the baby boy and members of the public who may have information to offer to contact the investigating officers on 6277 5355 or 2417 5200.
