The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) today (April 8) made the following announcement regarding a critical case of human swine influenza (HSI):
An 18-month-old boy with a history of neurometabolic disease and epilepsy attended the Accident and Emergency Department of TMH yesterday (April 7) due to fever, cough and convulsions. His condition was critical and he was transferred to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for treatment. The test result for HSI was confirmed as positive on the same day (April 7). He was prescribed Tamiflu and antibiotics. He is in critical condition but does not require ventilation support. The hospital is closely monitoring his condition.
