Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po yesterday morning (April 7) in which a 77-year-old man was killed.

     About 7.20am, a coach driven by a 55-year-old man was travelling along Lai Chi Kok Road towards Kwai Chung. When approaching the junction of Yen Chow Street, the coach reportedly knocked down the 77-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing the road.

     The pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where he was certified dead at 12.52pm.

     The coach driver was arrested for "dangerous driving causing death" and had been released on Police bail pending further enquiries.  

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are under way.
