The Government today (April 1) announced the appointment of 10 new members to the Commission on Youth (COY) for a two-year term starting from April 1, 2010.

The Commission also includes representatives from the Home Affairs Bureau, Education Bureau, Labour and Welfare Bureau and the Security Bureau.
The COY is a non-statutory advisory body to advise the Government on matters pertaining to youth development. It commissions research studies on youth development matters and organises or sponsors youth development activities. It also sponsors youth study tours to the Mainland under the Community Participation Scheme for Organising Study Tours to the Mainland and the Youth National Education Funding Scheme; and runs the International Youth Exchange Programme for Hong Kong youths to go overseas for exchange activities.
