****************************************************

Over 538,000 visitors came and enjoyed the 10-day Hong Kong Flower Show 2010 organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), which ended yesterday (March 28).

As part of its efforts to promote greening, the LCSD has started to distribute the plants still in good condition to various gardens and parks managed by the department, as well as schools and charity organisations, so the public can continue to enjoy them.

The show's theme flower was the Cineraria and its theme was "Fairy Tales of Flowers". About 200 organisations from 21 countries showcased exotic flowers, landscape and floral art displays. They were from the Mainland, Australia, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. A series of fringe activities were also held during the show period, including music and dance performances, floral art demonstrations, a fashion show, cooking demonstrations, green talks and fun games.
