The number of live chickens available at the Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market this morning (March 26) is 13,400, with 7,000 imported from the Mainland and 6,400 from local farms. A spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said the average wholesale price was $10.90 per catty.
From tomorrow, the above figures on live chicken supply will be released via AFCD's "Fresh Food Supply & Consumption" website( www.afcd.gov.hk/english/agriculture/agr_fresh/agr_fresh.html ). The public and the media can visit the website to learn about the latest supply of live chickens in Hong Kong.
