Customs seizes ketamine in Wong Tai Sin (with photo)

     Hong Kong Customs yesterday (March 25) arrested a 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman suspected of trafficking in dangerous drugs, seizing 43 grammes of ketamine with an estimated value of $5,000 in Wong Tai Sin.

     Customs officers yesterday afternoon intercepted the couple at Sheung Fung Street Carpark in Wong Tai Sin and found 15 packets of ketamine on the man when he was searched.  Officers then seized in the couple's premises another packet of ketamine and some packing equipment.

     The couple were charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at the Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts this afternoon (March 26).

     Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence which is liable to a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
