Local renowned percussion ensemble, Four Gig Heads Percussion Group - Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads, will perform in "A Musical Zoo - A Percussion Concert" next month (April).
Featuring "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea", "The Quarrelling Ducks", "The Menacing Tiger", "New York, New York", "Opening Drumming", "Firecracker Rockets", "The Crested Myna Washing", "Tribal Beat", "Fred No Frevo" and "Visional Train", the concerts will be held at 8pm, April 24 (Saturday), at the Auditorium, North District Town Hall, and 8pm, April 28 (Wednesday), at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre which brings to children and parents a host of family fun.
Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads was founded in 2007 by Angus Fu Ye-chung and Luk Kin-bin. Members of the group are young, avid percussionists who are auditioned and selected by Four Gig Heads. With extensive on-stage experience, they are versatile in Chinese and Western percussion music, in both traditional and contemporary styles, as well as Brazilian samba and African drums.
The ensemble has appeared in "A Concert in Percussion Music" by Four Gig Heads, "PC ¡V Percussion Concert", "Beat the Drum for Inclusion", "Dragon Jamboree" and the "Dim It ¡V Lights out Carnival". It also gives demonstration performances to promote percussion music in Hong Kong.
"A Musical Zoo - A Percussion Concert by Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads" is one of the programmes in the "Family Fiesta" series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Tickets priced from $80 to $100 (North District Town Hall) and $100 to $120 (Sheung Wan Civic Centre) are now available at URBTIX outlets. Senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients may have 50% off (limited quotas for CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis). A maximum discount of 20% is offered for group booking and "Family Fiesta Series" schemes. Please refer to the programme leaflet for details.
