To facilitate the funeral ceremony for late Senior Fireman Yeung Chun-kit by the Fire Services Department in Hung Hom, Cheung Sha Wan and Lai Chi Kok, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented from 08.30am to 11.25am tomorrow (March 23):
1. Temporary Road Closure:
- Cheong Hang Road, Cheong Hang Lane, and Winslow Street between Cheong Hang Road and Cheong Tung Road will be closed between 08.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.;
- Castle Peak Road between Tai Nan West Street and Kwong Cheung Street; and Yu Chau West Street between Wing Hong Street and Castle Peak Road will be closed between 10.40am and 10.50am; and
- Po Lun Street between Lai Chi Kok Road and Sham Mong Road; Lai Chi Kok Road between Yuet Lun Street and Broadway (the first junction from Po Lun Street) will be closed when the cortege is leaving between 11.05 am and 11.25am.
2. Temporary Traffic Diversion:
- Between 08.30am and 10.30am
(i) vehicles on Lo Lung Hang Street will be diverted to turn right onto Winslow Street;
- Between 10.40am and 10.50am,
(i) vehicles in Tai Nan West Street northbound will be prohibited from turning right onto Castle Peak Road;
(ii) vehicles on Castle Peak Road will be diverted to turn left onto Tai Nan West Street northbound;
(iii) vehicles in Wing Hong Street will be prohibited from turning left onto Yu Chau West Street; and
(iv) vehicle in Yu Chau West Street will be diverted to turn right onto Wing Hong Street.
- Between 11.05 am and 11.25am,
(i) vehicles in Po Lun Street northbound will be diverted to turn right onto Sham Mong Road eastbound;
(ii) vehicles on Sham Mong Road westbound will be diverted to turn left onto Po Lun Street southbound;
(iii) vehicles on Lai Po Road northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Sham Mong Road westbound (except for vehicles proceeding to Manhattan Hill);
(iv) vehicles on Sham Mong Road westbound will be diverted to turn left onto Lai Po Road southbound (except for vehicles proceeding to Manhattan Hill);
(v) vehicles on Lai Chi Kok Road westbound and Cheung Sha Wan Road flyover westbound will be diverted via Kwai Chung Road westbound when the cortege is leaving.
Motorists are urged to take heed of traffic signs at the scene and instructions by traffic Police.
