The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mrs Rita Lau, will officiate at the opening ceremony of an investment promotion seminar organised by Invest Hong Kong in Guangzhou tomorrow (March 23). The objective of the seminar is to promote Hong Kong's advantages as a platform for Mainland enterprises to establish an international presence.
Mrs Lau will also participate in other related activities and take the opportunity to exchange views with Guangdong officials responsible for trade and investment.
The seminar is part of Invest Hong Kong's three-year nationwide marketing campaign "On Your Marks, Get-set, Go!" aimed at attracting Mainland enterprises to invest in Hong Kong. The Guangdong programme is the sixth of the series, after events held in Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Jiangsu and Sichuan since the campaign's launch in 2007.
Mrs Lau will return to Hong Kong that evening.
