Hongkong Post today (March 22) announced that a postage prepaid postcard featuring the "China Post - Hongkong Post - Macao Post Joint Issue on Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" will be released for sale on March 24.
Scheduled to open in 2016, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a major infrastructure project that will help to speed up the geographical integration and socioeconomic development of the Pearl River Delta region. Hongkong Post is proud to take part in pioneering this first joint issue with China Post and Macao Post, which confers special historic and commemorative value, marking the 100th day since commencement of construction works on the project.
To reflect the strategic significance of this landmark road linkage, the postage prepaid postcard depicts the bauhinia, bougainvillea and lotus which are the city flowers of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau respectively. The background decorated with contours in rainbow colours seeks to echo the bridge cables and herald a bright future for the three cities.
The postage prepaid postcard will be sold at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office from March 24.
