The Government today (March 12) announced the appointment of Ms Li Fung-ying, Mr Wilfred Ng Sau-kei, Ms Wong Mee-chun and Mr Yeung Yiu-chung to the Fight Crime Committee for a term of two years, and the re-appointment of three incumbent members, namely Mr Vincent Fang Kang, Dr John Tse Wing-ling, and Ir Edgar Kwan Chi-ping, for a further term of two years. These appointments were made by the Chief Secretary for Administration and will take effect from April 1, 2010.
The Fight Crime Committee is responsible for drawing up plans to reduce crime, co-ordinating efforts in fighting crime and monitoring the results, and determining ways in which the public can be encouraged to contribute to the fight against crime. It is chaired by the Chief Secretary for Administration.
