Following is the transcript (English portion) of the remarks made by the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, at a media session at Legislative Council today (March 10):
Reporter: Is it necessary to raise the travel alert to a higher level?
Secretary for Security: In view of the fact that the Thai authority has imposed "Internal Security ActĄ¨ in Bangkok and surrounding areas, we feel that there may be large-scale demonstration and may be some clashes among different groups in these areas. So we have decided to raise the Outbound Travel Alert from Amber to Red. We advise Hong Kong residents intending to go there to consider changing their travel plans. And those already there should attend to their own personal safety and avoid going to places where there are large group of people protesting or gathering.
