Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Ma On Shan last night (March 1) in which a 53-year-old woman was killed and six other persons were injured.
About 11pm last night, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 28-year-old man was travelling on Sai Sha Road towards Sai Kung. When approaching near No. 608 Sai Sha Road, the PLB reportedly lost control, hit another PLB and then rammed into a bus stop.
Two female pedestrians, aged 24 and 53, were knocked down by the PLB and sustained serious injuries. The 53-year-old woman was certified dead at scene.
The 28-year-old PLB driver, a male and three female passengers, aged between 22 and 35, were also injured. All the injured were taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.
The 28-year-old PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
Investigations by Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories South are under way.
