New Police website launched
***************************

The revamped Police Public Page (PPP) (www.police.gov.hk) incorporating a host of new features to publicise crime prevention advice and other timely information about the Force is launched today (March 1).

After a face-lift with a complete restructure of the content, seven most popular themes, including Police Messages, Recruitment and Traffic Matters, have been identified and placed in the prominent area of the homepage with colourful short-cut keys to draw netizens' attention.

The e-banners have also been expanded to cover more important themes which are now aligned on the right hand side of the homepage with attractive icons and short- cuts to facilitate direct access to information.

In addition, the new website has enriched its multi-media content. Members of the public can view video clips of "Police Magazine" and OffBeat, Government anti-crime promotional videos and photographs of Police activities at the ¡§Photo and Video Gallery¡¨.

There is also a dedicated section, "Interest Corner", for younger visitors, containing teen-friendly features, such as free games, ringtones and wallpaper downloads.

While disseminating the most updated Police messages to the public, the new PPP will continue to showcase the various facets of Police work with its informative and interesting content.
