CE to attend NPC session opening ceremony

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will visit Beijing from March 3-6. At the invitation of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr Tsang will attend the opening ceremony of the third session of the 11th National People's Congress on March 5.

     While in Beijing, Mr Tsang will also attend a spring reception hosted by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China, and conduct other official business.

     Accompanying Mr Tsang on the visit will be the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Raymond Tam; the Director of Information Services, Mr Michael Wong; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Mak; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Vic Yau.

     After the Beijing visit, Mr Tsang will take vacation leave from March 7-10.

     During Mr Tsang's absence from Hong Kong, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be Acting Chief Executive.
