The Government today (February 26) announced the appointment of Ms Winnie Ng to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). Her term will run from March 1, 2010, until March 31, 2012.
Ms Ng is currently a board member of Transport International Holdings Limited and Kowloon Motor Bus Co Ltd. She is also the deputy chairman of Roadshow Holdings and a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission.
"We welcome Ms Winnie Ng to join the Board. With her professional knowledge and experience in management and marketing, we are confident that Ms Ng will contribute to HKTB's work in promoting Hong Kong worldwide as a premier tourist destination," a spokesman for the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau said.
"We are very grateful to Mr Chow Chung-kong, who will retire from the HKTB having served on it for six years, for his valuable contribution in enhancing the corporate governance of the HKTB and the development of tourism in Hong Kong," the spokesman added.
Appointments to the HKTB are made by the Financial Secretary under section 9 of the Hong Kong Tourism Board Ordinance, under delegated authority from the Chief Executive.
