Youth Portal to hold "Our Community" student photo contest
**********************************************************

The Government's Youth Portal (Youth.gov.hk) is joining with PCM Student and Youth Square to hold an "Our Community" student photo contest. It will give secondary school students the chance to better appreciate their community as well as an opportunity to develop their interest and skills in photography,

Focusing on tradition and heritage as the theme of this contest, participating students are encouraged to capture local heritage, cultural artifacts, and the stark contrast between the old and new in their community through digital photography.

The contest is open to local secondary school students. They can register and submit their entries at (www.youth.gov.hk/photocontest) by next Wednesday (March 3). There are categories for junior and senior secondary students and the winner of each category will receive handsome prizes and a half-day internship with a professional journalist.

To deepen the knowledge and skills of digital photography among secondary students, the Youth Portal and the organisers will hold a workshop where professional photographers will share their experiences and tips on taking digital photographs.

The workshop will be held on March 28 at Youth Square Y-Studio, 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan. Application details are available on (www.youth.gov.hk/photocontest).

Call 3181 3461 or email student@pcmarket.com.hk for enquiries about the contest or the workshop.

The Youth Portal provides online services for young people. Apart from special features on a variety of topics, there is also detailed information on interest classes as well as arts and cultural activities. To learn more about the portal, please visit (www.youth.gov.hk).
