Police yesterday (February 23) reclassified the case of a body found in Aberdeen on January 25 as a murder.
About 8.40am on that day, police received a report that the body of a 69-year-old woman was floating in the sea off Aberdeen South Typhoon Shelter.
A post-mortem revealed that the cause of her death was suspicious with wounds found on her neck.
After investigations, a 54-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the case the same night . Two men, aged 59 and 42, were also arrested on January 26 in connection with the case. The 42-year-old man was released unconditionally due to insufficient evidence while the other man and the woman have been released on bail and will report back this month. Police also seized a wooden vessel suspected to be connected to the case.
Active investigations by District Crime Squad of Western District are proceeding.
