Police today (February 21) appealed for information about a traffic accident in Chai Wan on February 16 in which a 62-year-old man was killed.
A tram driven by a 60-year-old man was travelling along westbound Shau Kei Wan Road about 6.50am. When approaching the junction with Nam Hong Street, the tram is believed to have hit the man crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the 62-year-old man was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where he was certified dead at 7.55pm on February 18.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are proceeding.
Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information is urged to contact the investigating officers on 3106 8838 or 3106 8800 or any police stations.
