The following is issued on behalf of the Broadcasting Authority:
The Broadcasting Authority (BA) today (February 19) promulgated by a notice in the Gazette the "Guidance Note for Licensees and Companies Seeking to be Licensees on Information to be Provided in relation to Restrictions on Persons Not Regarded as Fit and Proper under Section 21 of the Broadcasting Ordinance", pursuant to section 4(1) of the Broadcasting Ordinance (Cap.562). The Guidance Note is available at the BA's website at (www.hkba.hk).
The Guidance Note sets out the information required to be included in the statutory declarations submitted by television programme service licensees and companies seeking to be licensees for the BA to assess compliance with the fit and proper person requirement under Section 21 of the Broadcasting Ordinance. The statutory declaration forms have also been revised by the BA following consultation with licensees.
