The public can share the festive joy while learning more about Chinese music at the "Lunar New Year Chinese Classics in Sha Tin - Chinese Music Appreciation Concert" to be held at the Shatin New Town Plaza this Saturday (February 20).
Organised by the Sha Tin Arts Association, the concert will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Entrance Arena, Shatin New Town Plaza. Admission is free.
The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Sha Tin Chinese Orchestra will perform a number of festive and classic Chinese tunes at the concert. Besides ensemble recitals, the public can also enjoy solo performances of liuqin, flute and suona.
To enhance the public's knowledge and cultivate their interest in Chinese music, there will be a Chinese music appreciation session during the concert when members of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and Sha Tin Chinese Orchestra will introduce the characteristics of different Chinese musical instruments.
The concert is co-organised by the Sha Tin District Office and sponsored by Sha Tin District Council.
