The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (February 10) obtained two orders in the District Court against two employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $188,000.
The District Court today issued judgments against 2068 Fashion Limited and Quick Colour Printing Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $118,289.31 and $70,000, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 40 and 14 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amount awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants to each pay costs of $930.
