The US-based Tweaksters will blend acrobatic dance and artistic juggling with odd objects in a rhythmic performance, "Far-out Physical Fun", to delight audiences in Hong Kong next month (March).
From glow-in-the-dark illusions to a quirky movement of aesthetics and athletics using huge fitness balls, to skillful feats of strength and balance, this hour-long pulse-quickening adventure will keep audiences enthralled. The Tweaksters use their athletic prowess and fertile imaginations to deftly manipulate flower pots, luminescent ropes, and galvanised pipes - not to mention each other - tweaking all the way. The Tweaksters were founded by Regan Patno and Julia Snyder. The duo has performed together for more than a decade in national and international shows. Regan has a string of film and TV dancing credits, including "Forrest Gump", "Sister Act II" and "Star Trek: Nemesis"; while Julia, a personal fitness trainer who was honoured by Shape magazine a fitness model of the year, brings years of gymnastics, dance and yoga training to her craft.
"Far-out Physical Fun" is one of the entertaining programmes in "Family Fiesta" presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Tickets are now available at URBTIX outlets. Senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients may have 50% off (limited quotas for CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis). A workshop will also be held at 4pm on March 20 at the North District Town Hall and March 21 at the Tai Po Civic Centre. Families are welcome to take part in the fabulous mix of creative movements, dexterous games and wacky races, using props from The Tweaksters. Tickets priced at $50 are available at URBTIX outlets.
