Police are investigating a traffic accident in Kwun Tong this morning (February 9) in which a 78-year-old woman was injured and later died in hospital.
About 9.30am, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along Shung Yan Street towards Hong Ning Road. Outside No. 2 Shung Yan Street, the vehicle reportedly ran over the woman who was lying on the road.
She sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to United Christian Hospital where she was certified dead at 9.51am.
The 51-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop after a traffic accident and failing to report after a traffic accident.
Investigations were taken over by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East.
