Police are investigating a traffic accident in Wan Chai late last night (January 23) in which a 51-year-old woman was killed.
About 11.13pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 29-year-old man was travelling along Hysan Avenue eastbound. When right turning into San Wui Road, the PLB knocked down the 51-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injury, the female pedestrian was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital where she was certified dead at 4.23am today (January 24).
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are underway.
