Duo charged with conspiracy to wound with intent

     Police charged a 15-year-old girl today (January 22) and a 16-year-old boy yesterday (January 21) for conspiracy to wound with intent.

     About 12.15am last Friday (January 15), Police received a report that five boys, aged between 14 and 17, were assaulted by another group of males outside Lung Chi House at Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate. Four mobile phones were being robbed during the incident. Among the five victims, a 15-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was subsequently certified dead on Monday (January 18).

     Up till now, 15 males and a female, aged between 14 and 22, have been arrested. They were suspected to be in connection with the case. Among them, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were each charged with one count of conspiracy to wound with intent. The 16-year-old boy has appeared in Kwun Tong Magistrateˇ¦s Court this morning (January 22) and will re-appear in the same Court on February 5, 2010. The girl will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrateˇ¦s Court tomorrow morning (January 23).

     The other nine men were released on bail pending further enquiries, two men have been released unconditionally and three men were still being detained for further enquiries.

     Active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East are underway.
