The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) made the following announcement today (January 22):
A total of six patients (aged from 59 to 88) of a female rehabilitation medical ward in Tuen Mun Hospital have presented with diarrhoea symptoms since January 18. Appropriate tests were arranged for the patients. All test results were positive for Norovirus. The patients are being treated under isolation and all are in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visits to and discharge from the ward have been imposed. Infection control measures of the ward have been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
