The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding a male rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 20):
Three more patients (aged 61 to 79) in the ward had presented with diarrhoea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test results of the three patients were positive to Norovirus. All are being treated under isolation and in stable condition.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting to and discharge from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures in the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow-up.
