The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in December showed a decrease of 468 cases over November, representing a decrease of 0.2%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (January 20).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of December stood at
289,139 (see attached table), with 482,001 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases showed a decrease of 1.2% to 33,279.
Low earning cases showed a decrease of 0.1% to stand at 15,633.
Single parent cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.5% to 36,233 while old age cases increase by 0.1% to 153,448.
