Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau today (January 19) in which a 29-year-old woman was killed and a 4-year-old boy was injured.
About 11.55am, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 48-year-old man travelling along Ho Sheung Heung Road towards Ma Tso Lung reportedly knocked down the 29-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son.
The woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to North District Hospital where she was certified dead at around 12.32pm. The 4-year-old boy also sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.
The 48-year-old driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was being detained for enquiry.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
