Yuen Long food premises ordered to suspend business
***************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant (®õ¦n¨ý), at Flat 9, ground floor, Fu Ho Building, 3-7 Kau Yuk Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (January 18) to January 31.

"In August and October last year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department said.

"A total fine of $7,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

He said the food premises also had two convictions last June for the same offence.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days last September," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
