The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
Regarding a pulmonary ward of Haven of Hope Hospital (HHH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 12):
Three more patients (two males and one female, aged 84 to 94) had presented with diarrhea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test results of the patients were positive to Norovirus. They are being treated under isolation and all in stable condition.
There will be no admission to and discharge from the concerned ward for the time being, visiting is also suspended. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up, thorough cleansing and disinfection have been carried out. All other patients in the ward are under close surveillance.
The cases have been reported to Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
