The Government today (January 8) announced appointments of nine members to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from January 1.
Those re-appointed are Mr Raymond Choy Wai-shek, Ms Amanda Liu Lai-yun, Prof Wong Yung-hou and Ms Irene Yau Oi-yuen.
Newly appointed members are Mr Chapman Chan Chor-man, Dr David Chung Wai-keung, Mr Lee Yuen-kwong, Mr Stanley Szeto Chi-yan and Mr Alvin Wong Tak-wai.
"We are delighted that the four incumbent members and five new members have accepted the appointments. We are confident that their experience and expertise will be invaluable to the work of the council in promoting consumer interests," a government spokesman said.
Mr Paul Chan Mo-po, Mr Ernest Ip Koon-wing, Mr Brian Li Man-bun, Mr Allen Ma Kam-sing, Miss Anita Ma Wing-tseung and Mrs Lily Yew Kuin King-suk retired from the council on December 31. "We would like to express our gratitude to them for their contribution to the council's work," the spokesman said.
The appointment notice will be published in the Gazette next Friday (January 15).
