Tap dance group to perform "absurd" work
****************************************

Tap dance group R & TĦ]Rhythm & TempoĦ^will perform its "absurd" creation "Tap Building" from March 5-7 at the Black Box Theatre, Kwai Tsing Theatre.

The story takes place in a dilapidated guesthouse and people with different stories and experiences in life have come from all over the world. They may not know each other, but they have the same hope of finding a "home" where they can settle down. They have a language problem, but they are able to become friends by making sounds from instinct. It is as if they are revisiting their past, looking at each other and they seem to recognise the same sorrows. They walk into that building with dilapidated windows and door, wanting to reconstruct their lives. Then they realise that they can build a glorious future with their own hands. The place is no longer the dilapidated guesthouse.

R & T was founded by tap dancers Eve Leung and Ken Kwok and musician Andy Cheung in 2008. It aims to allow local audiences to get in touch with and learn more about tap dance through producing pieces with various styles by using different kinds of music and making rhythms with ordinary everyday objects.

"Tap Building" is one of the attractions of "New Force in Motion Series" presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 8pm on March 5 and 6 (Friday and Saturday) and 3pm on March 6 and 7 (Saturday and Sunday). Tickets priced at $180 are now available at URBTIX outlets.
