Homicide and suicide in Western District

     Police are investigating a homicide and suicide case in Western District yesterday (December 30) in which a 33-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl died.

     About 10.30pm on December 30, a 36-year-old woman reported to Police that she failed to contact her relative at their home on Pok Fu Lam Road, Western District.

     When Police arrived and gained entrance into the flat, they found the 33-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter lying unconscious in their bedroom. A basin with burnt charcoal was found nearby. They were certified dead at scene.

     Initial enquiries revealed that no external injury was found on both deceased bodies.
 
     Post-mortem examinations has been conducted today (December 31) and it was believed to be inhalation of carbon monoxide from burning charcoal.

     Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Western District are underway.
