The Hong Kong Museum of Art will have another new initiative for its visitors, to celebrate the new year.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will partner the Friends of the Hong Kong Museum of Art to present a concert series entitled "The Sound of Art". Different musicians will be invited to give performances at the Lobby of the Museum of Art from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on the first Sunday of each month from next month (January) to May. Admission of the concert series is free.
Pianist Nicolette Wong is the programme co-ordinator. Details of the programme schedules are as follows:

Programme: Rediscovering the Piano Quartet: from Brahms to Samson Young
Lee Chui-tan and Nicolette Wong will be the prelude to the concert series. Lee Chui-tan has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in both modern and baroque violin in North America, Europe, and Asia. She won the first prizes at the "Five Mile River" competition and the Manhattan School Competition, and second prize at the Juilliard School Competition. Lee is a founding member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
Having left Hong Kong to continue her studies abroad at the age of 13, Nicolette Wong returned to Hong Kong after graduating from the University of Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. Her former teachers include Ramona Kan, Katherine Lu, Hugh Petter, and Sulamita Aronovsky. Wong has given many solo recitals in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, of which the most recent was part of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department's 'Our Music Talents' series. An avid writer, Wong's articles have been published in RTHK's Finemusic magazine, and she also helped edit the paper Comparing Funding Models: Conversations at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, February 2008, published in 2009.
The Museum of Art is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. It opens from 10am to 6pm from Sunday to Wednesday and Fridays, and from 10am to 8pm on Saturdays. The museum will close at 5pm on Chinese New Year's Eve. It is closed on Thursdays (except public holidays) and the first two days of Chinese New Year.
