The Government today (December 30) announced the appointment of three non-official members to the Education Commission (EC).
Newly appointed to the EC are Mr Langton Cheung Yung-pong, the Chairman of the Subsidised Primary Schools Council and Principal of S.K.H. St James' Primary School and Mrs Connie Lo Ng Wai-fun, the Chairman of Hong Kong Special Schools Council and Principal of Hong Chi Winifred Mary Cheung Morninghope School. An incumbent member, Professor Wong Po-choi is re-appointed.¡@
All three members are appointed in their personal capacity for a two-year term with effect from January 1, 2010.
An Education Bureau spokesman said, "With these three members' rich experience in education, we are confident that they will be able to provide valuable advice and contribute to the work of the commission."
The spokesman also thanked outgoing member Mr Tang Kwai-tai, former Chairman of Subsidised Primary Schools Council and Mrs Rita Mansukhani Au Hay-lun, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Special Schools Council, for their valuable contribution to the work of the commission.
