Reward for information about plastic bottle with corrosive fluid fell from height case in Causeway Bay

     Police are offering a $300,000 reward for information that helps solve a case in Causeway Bay on December 12 this year in which a bottle containing corrosive fluid was thrown from a building.

     About 10.07pm on December 12, police received a report that a plastic bottle had been thrown from a building at 541-543 Lockhart Road into the street below.

     The bottle containing corrosive fluid splashed when hitting an advertising signboard. A total of six passers-by sustained chemical burns injuries of different degrees, including one man and five women, aged from 18 to 27. Police believed that it was a deliberate act by unknown culprit(s).

     Police have classified the cases as throwing corrosive fluid with intent to do grievous bodily harm. The case is still under active investigations by the Regional Crime Unit of Hong Kong Island.

     Police appeal to anyone who has information on the case to contact any police station or the investigating officers on 6643 7068.

     They can also give the information by letter to General Post Office Box No. 999, by fax at 2200 4518 or by email to crimeinformation@police.gov.hk.

     The reward will be paid either in full or pro-rata to any person or shared among people giving information leading to the arrest and satisfactory prosecution of those responsible for the attack. The reward is valid for six months.
