SEN attending COP15 conference (with photo)

     Negotiations in the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009 (COP 15) had reached a crucial final stage to achieve a global consensus, the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Edward Yau, said today (December 18, Denmark time) .

     He said all parties involved were stepping up efforts to work on an agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions globally before the conference ended tonight.

     This morning, Mr Yau attended an internal meeting of China and other developing countries at Bella Centre, the venue of Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.

     Later today, he will join the closing session of COP15.

     Mr Yau will leave Copenhagen for Hong Kong tomorrow (December 19).
