The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) today (December 16) published the December 2009 issue of its Quarterly Bulletin.
This Quarterly Bulletin carries a feature article and regular articles on the banking and monetary environment during the third quarter of 2009.
The feature article, entitled "Results of surveys on selected debt securities and off-balance sheet exposures to derivatives and securitisations", indicates that the overall exposure of authorised institutions to structured credit products and credit derivatives remained insignificant, and the activities were concentrated in a few institutions.
The Quarterly Bulletin can be viewed on and downloaded from the HKMA website at http://www.info.gov.hk/hkma/eng/public/qb_index.htm .
To reflect year-end and mid-year economic and banking statistics in the analyses, the HKMA is going to publish its Half-Yearly Monetary and Financial Stability Report every March and September. The next issue will be published in March 2010.
