In the morning, Mr Yau visited the Ports of Stockholm to see the environmental measures there.  The ports provide onshore power supply to reduce both emissions and noise.  By optimising the energy consumption in their buildings and by replacing boilers with district heating, the consumption of fossil fuel in some buildings decreased by as much as 90%.

He later attended a lunch co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (London) and Royal Sweden Hong Kong Society to brief the Swedish business community on Hong Kong latest developments.

In the afternoon, he will meet Director General of the Swedish Road Administration, Ms Lena Erixon, to exchange views on green transport.

Mr Yau will then join guided tours by officials of City of Stockholm's Environmental Administration to a low emission zone and goods logistic projects. He will visit the production of Biogas (a fuel for lower emissions), a Biogas fuelling station, and a new eco-city under planning.  He will be briefed on the eco-cycle model designed to ensure recycling throughout the eco-city.

He will leave Stockholm later for Copenhagen and attend the reception and dinner of the Copenhagen Climate Summit for Mayors in the evening.

Mr Yau will attend all sessions of the Joint High-level Segment of the 15th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and take part in the closing session on December 18.
